The Calgary Maker Faire Designathon is a student design competition that brings together the most creative design thinkers, innovators and future leaders to tackle some of the most challenging problems in our society.
The Calgary Maker Faire Designathon is a design competition where participants are given a selection of real-world challenges from Engineering. Participants will create a solution, build prototypes, and present to a panel of industry professionals. Sign up and receive an Design-a-thon package with further information on how to participate. Winners will be announced on Sunday May 14th at 3:30 pm.
Applications are open to all post-secondary, senior high school and junior high students with experience in engineering design. Designathon applications can be done as an individual or as a team. With three categories, Undergraduate, Senior High School and Junior High School, students can enter their projects and win prizes. And this year we are adding Elementary students grades 4 to 6.
Undergraduate – First prize $1100, Second prize $550 Third prize $275
Senior High School – First prize $600, Second prize $300, Third prize $150
Junior High School – First prize $400, Second prize $200, Third prize $100
Elementary (4 – 6) – First prize $200, Second prize $100, Third prize $50
