Melanie Long

Melanie Long is a teacher and artist from Calgary, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Art from the Alberta College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. Ms Long has studied glass worldwide including at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia; Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State; Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina; and the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. Ms Long has taught painting and glass processes at numerous institutions in locations that include the West Indies, Vancouver, Black Diamond, Okotoks, and Calgary. She enjoys making anthropomorphic sculptures and telling narratives through her art.
